Taiwan’s representative to Denmark, Lily Hsu, participated in a discussion on cross-strait relations held by Danish broadcaster Radio 24syv on Sunday local time.
During the program, Hsu said that improvements in cross-strait ties since President Ma Ying-jeou took office in 2008 have contributed to regional peace and stability. She said that warming ties between the two sides have been welcomed by the international community.
However, she said that China continues to denigrate Taiwan’s position in the international arena. She also expressed regret about a map released by Denmark’s embassy in China showing Taiwan as part of China’s territory. She said that Taiwan’s representative office in Denmark will continue to talk with the Danish government in hopes of rectifying the map.
Meanwhile, Hsu said that Taiwan hopes to sign an economic cooperation agreement with the EU and continue forward in efforts to join in regional economic integration.
