First Lady Chow Mei-ching is in Japan on a trip to promote ties with Japan. She arrived in Tokyo Thursday evening.
While in Japan, she will serve as honorary leader of the Taiwan Vox Nativa Children’s Choir, a choir made up of aboriginal children. The choir is scheduled to hold three concerts in Tokyo, with the first concert slated for Friday.
While in Tokyo, Chow will also preview a special exhibition of precious artifacts on loan from Taipei’s National Palace Museum. This is the first time that the museum has lended its treasures to another country in Asia.
