Taiwanese tennis player Chuang Chia-jung and her Japanese doubles partner Namigata Junri won the WTA tournament in Nanchang, China on Monday.
The doubles final saw two Taiwanese players hitting against each other. Chuang and Junri were up against Taiwanese player Chan Chin-wei and Chinese player Xu Yi-fan. They won the US$125,000 WTA tournament in two sets, 7 to 6 and 6 to 3.
Chuang has been a top doubles player but had to rest for a year after wrist surgery in 2012. She started playing again at the 2013 OEC Taipei Ladies Open.
On her Facebook page, Chuang said she was really surprised that she was able to win this doubles tournament. That’s because she had a cold and fever and was not feeling well. She thanked her partner for helping them win the tournament and her fans and sponsors for their support.
