President Ma Ying-jeou says the unemployment rate this year will fall under 3.8%.
Ma made the comments on Saturday while visiting the eastern county of Hualien to learn more about job training programs for aboriginal youths. Ma said since he first took office six years ago, the government has created 620,000 jobs, and that the jobless rate has fallen from a peak of 6.3% to 3.8%. He said the unemployment rate this year is expected to fall even lower.
