Shares in Taiwan recovered most of their earlier losses to close slightly lower Friday. That's after an initial plunge caused by rising fears of tensions following the downing of a Malaysia Airlines plane over Ukraine.
The benchmark weighted index closed down 7.27 points, or 0.07%, at 9,400.97.
