The Ministry of Health and Welfare has set up an inspection team to ensure food and medical equipment safety.
The government has stepped up efforts to ensure food safety in recent years following a series of food scares involving tainted cooking oil and starch.
Ministry official Chiang Yu-mei said that in July, the checks will focus on popular summer foods, like cold drinks and sweet iced treats.
Chiang said the government will also strengthen safety inspections on medical equipment, regulated medicines and cosmetic products.
