Taiwan’s new trend of mixing instant noodles with pudding has made its way to America. The Los Angeles Times reported on its web site on Tuesday that the concoction is worth a try.

The new eating method, which was featured in a YouTube video, was described as tasting like tonkotsu ramen noodles in pork stock.

The article mentioned other Asian-inspired food trends, like ramen hamburgers, which swept across America last year, and ramen pizza, which made its debut at the Los Angeles’ night market last week. It said that just when you thought you’d seen every ramen noodle hybrid possible, out popped pudding instant noodles.

The article quoted Japan’s Rocketnews 24 as saying that even though it proclaimed the concoction “weird”, the new cuisine nevertheless is a nice blend of salty and sweet. The Japanese website also said that the hot noodles and the cold pudding balanced out to a pleasantly warm temperature.
