The Central Weather Bureau is warning of torrential rain in eastern and southern Taiwan. The warnings came on Sunday as Tropical Storm Hagibis bared down on the southeastern coast of China.
Although the storm will not pass through Taiwan, areas of Pingtung and Taitung counties, as well as several outlying islands, including Orchid Island, Green Island, Penghu and Kinmen are likely to see heavy rain.
Hagibis is forecast to make landfall in Fujian Province, Southern China on Sunday night.
Meanwhile, forecasters are predicting unstable weather throughout the entire main island of Taiwan in the coming days, with showers and thunderstorms expected in all areas.
