The Central Weather Bureau says it may issue a sea warning for Tropical Storm Hagibis Saturday evening.
The weather bureau said the tropical depression had strengthened into a tropical storm. It also said the storm was located some 400 kilometers southwest of the southernmost tip of Taiwan. It was moving north at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour.
