Taiwan’s representative to Mexico is encouraging Taiwanese businesspeople in the country to support Taiwan’s participation in the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP). The TPP is a proposed free trade agreement that would include many countries along the Pacific Rim.
Representative Carlos Liao spoke about business opportunities for Taiwanese businesses in Mexico, which is one of the countries involved in TPP negotiations. Liao said that it is very important that Taiwan joins the TPP. Liao said that Taiwan’s participation in the TPP is equally important for both Taiwan and Mexico. He called for all expatriates to gather all the support they can get in Mexico for Taiwan’s bid to join the TPP. He also encouraged Taiwanese businesses to promote bilateral trade with Mexico, and to export more Mexican products to Taiwan and other Asian markets.
