Premier Jiang Yi-huah met with three US Representatives at a banquet in Los Angeles on Monday. The three from southern California are Judy Chu, Alan Lowenthal and Linda Sanchez.
American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Chairman Raymond Burghardt also attended the banquet. Burghardt said participants had a great discussion about trade ties between Taiwan and the United States.
During his stopover in Los Angeles, Jiang also visited the Reagan Library in Simi Valley. He was accompanied by Burghardt, Taiwan’s representative to the US Shen Lyu-shun, and others. Jiang praised the library for its excellence. President Ma Ying-jeou also visited the Reagan Library in January of this year.
The premier visited Los Angeles after attending the inauguration of the new El Salvadorian president. He is scheduled to arrive in Taiwan on Wednesday.
