Taiwan’s first Innovation Match-Making Show has brought together nearly 200 teams of inventors in Taipei. That’s the word from the event organizer, Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) on Wednesday.
TAITRA said that Taiwanese inventors win an average of 220 awards every year in major international invention fairs. In addition, more than 500 patents were granted to Taiwanese inventors last year. However, only 0.3% of these innovations have been turned into actual products. The Innovation Match-Making Show aims to bring inventors and manufacturers together so their innovations can go into mass production and be sold around the world.
TAITRA said that the show is expected to create NT$2 billion in market value. Several multinational corporations such as eBay and Yahoo have attended the show.
