The voting age in Taiwan may be lowered from 20 to 18.
In a press conference on Thursday, ruling Kuomintang (KMT) lawmaker Lu Shiow-yen said she has received cross-party support on the issue. She also said that she has presented a bill on Wednesday to amend the constitution in order to lower the voting age to 18.
According to a recent survey conducted by the Taiwan Alliance for Advancement of Youth Rights and Welfare, about 70% of respondents support the lowering of voting age to 18.
