Taiwan’s representative to Thailand, Henry Chen, called a meeting on Tuesday as political instability in Thailand continues.
The Thai military declared martial law on Tuesday after six months of unrest in the country.
Taiwan’s representative office in Thailand says it has contacted leaders in the local expatriate community, reminding them to be cautious. However, the office said that so far, the demonstrations have not had any impact on Taiwanese businesses.
The Taiwanese envoy, Henry Chen, said that the representative office in Thailand will hold daily meetings as the situation continues to develop. He also said that the representative office will ensure the safety of Taiwanese nationals in Thailand.
