Taiwan has condemned the kidnappings of hundreds of Nigerian schoolgirls by Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
In a statement released Tuesday by the foreign ministry, Taiwan is calling for international cooperation with the Nigerian government to help rescue the kidnapped children and women.
The militant group has threatened to sell the more than 200 schoolgirls into slavery.
The foreign ministry is also calling on civic groups to voice their anger to the international community. The statement said the atrocities have seriously violated human rights.
