Taiwanese students came in fourth in a global test of 15-year olds held by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The test covered math and science and was given to students in 76 countries.
The top five scoring countries were all in Asia. Singapore topped the list, followed by Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan. Rounding out the top 10 were Finland, Estonia, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Canada. The next Asian country on the list was Vietnam in 12th place. The UK ranked 20th and the US 28th.
