The Central Weather Bureau says there’s rain in the forecast. But it will do little to ease the drought in central and southern Taiwan.
Taiwan saw little precipitation on Sunday and Monday. But forecasters say that a weather system sweeping down from the north is likely to bring sporadic light rain on Tuesday and Wednesday. They say that the areas that are likely to see precipitation include the northern and eastern parts of Taiwan, and mountainous regions in the center and south.
But meteorologists say the rain will probably do little to ease the drought. That’s because the rain will largely fall in areas that have greater reserves of water.
