The foreign ministry says that the 167 Taiwan nationals in Nepal during Saturday’s earthquake are confirmed safe.
One tour group with 12 Taiwanese tourists has already returned to Taiwan. Foreign ministry spokeswoman Ann Kao said that efforts are being made to arrange flights for the remaining travelers to return home as soon as possible.
For Taiwanese citizens in Nepal who need help, Kao said they should call the ministry's representative office in India via the emergency number +919810502610. Calls can also be placed directly to the foreign ministry in Taiwan at +886800085095.
