Shares in Taiwan closed higher Monday despite investor caution that will not likely dissipate until market heavyweights report their first quarter earnings later this week.
The weighted index on the Taiwan Stock Exchange ended up 48.82 points, or 0.5 percent, at the day's high of 9,666.52 after hitting a low of 9,622.59 on turnover of NT$82.5 billion (US$2.64 billion).
