The National Palace Museum hosted all three of the world’s best-attended museum exhibitions in 2014.

The National Palace Museum in Taipei houses the world's largest collection of imperial Chinese art. The collection contains more than 600,000 pieces that include calligraphy, porcelain, jades, bronzes, landscape paintings, portraiture, coins, rare books, documents, and figurines from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties. The treasures were originally the property of the imperial court in Beijing, and were brought to Taiwan after the Chinese Civil War.

According to UK-based publication “The Art Newspaper”, the three best-attended exhibitions were the National Palace Museum’s “Four Great Masters of the Ming Dynasty: Tang Yin”, “The All Complete Qianlong: A Special Exhibition on the Aesthetic Tastes of the Qing Emperor Gaozong”, and “Qianlong C.H.A.O: New Media Art Exhibition”. The three exhibitions attracted around 12,000 visitors a day.
