Music lovers flocked to Kenting in southern Pingtung County on Sunday for a series of outdoor music festivals that have drawn about 150,000 people since they began Friday.
The events, including Spring Scream, are thought to together be the largest international music festival in Taiwan. They will last through Monday, the last day of a four-day weekend.
This year marks the 21st annual Spring Scream music festival, an event which was originally started by two foreign residents. This year’s event includes six outdoor stages near the southernmost tip of Taiwan. It also featured art exhibits, DJs, stalls, food vendors and camping grounds.
Meanwhile, Pingtung police said on Saturday that some 16 people had been arrested for using drugs in a hotel and guesthouse on Friday. They urged partygoers to abstain from using drugs during the events.
