The tenth round of talks on a trade in goods agreement between Taiwan and China has begun in Beijing.
The three-day negotiations began on Tuesday and are expected to cover issues like lower tariff rates for Taiwan’s panel displays, machine tools, auto, and petrochemical industries. Taiwan also wants to confirm details of a free trade agreement between South Korea and China.
South Korea is a major trade competitor of Taiwan. Taiwan’s economics ministry expects that South Korea and China will formally sign a free trade agreement in the first half of this year.
