A bus driver in Changhua proves it doesn’t take much to be an everyday hero—just a little patience, quiet kindness, and a heart that cares.

Video script:
For most, catching the bus is routine. But for one 9th-grader in Changhua, it became something more. Ou, a student at Fangyuan Junior High, stays late at school to study, catching the last bus home every night. Unbeknownst to him, the driver had been quietly waiting extra minutes at the stop, just for him.

Ou only found out about this when he took a sick day in April, as the worried driver called the school to check on him. Touched, Ou wrote him a thank-you card before graduating. The school also honored the driver’s kindness with a certificate of appreciation.

A father himself, bus driver Yang Wen-tui (楊文對) said he didn’t want any kid to be left behind, especially late at night.

Who knew that the last bus was more than just a ride; it was a heartfelt journey home.
