Last week, the Kaohsiung French Festival returned to Pier-2 with record-breaking crowds and Parisian flair.
The second annual Kaohsiung French Festival unfolded in grand fashion at the city’s Pier-2 Art Center. Featuring a vibrant array of French-themed vendor stalls, the three-day celebration broke last year’s attendance record, drawing 160,000 visitors. Many attendees left eager to return for another taste of this Taiwan-France cultural showcase next year.
The festival saw the Kaohsiung City Government once again join forces with French partners—this time expanding the event with new attractions. Mayor Chen Chi-mai (陳其邁) welcomed guests with opening remarks, inviting people of all ages to experience the warmth and charm of a French summer right in southern Taiwan.
Members of the France-Taiwan Parliamentary Friendship Group were also in attendance, enjoying authentic French cuisine and mingling with festivalgoers.
In addition to culinary delights, the festival featured live music and cultural performances, delivering a full sensory experience. It offered a romantic, weekend-long escape that brought the spirit of French living to the heart of Kaohsiung.
With record-breaking attendance and rave reactions, the festival wrapped up on a high note—leaving visitors already looking forward to next year’s edition.
