Taiwanese delegation shares valuable exchange with Swiss Parliament

The visiting delegation of Taiwanese legislators participating in the 2025 World Health Assembly (WHA) visited Bern, Switzerland, on Thursday local time on a diplomatic mission with the Swiss Parliament.

The Taiwanese delegation, including DPP legislator Wang Cheng-hsu (王正旭) and KMT Legislators Wang Yu-min (王育敏) and Liu Shu-pin (劉書彬), were received by the co-chairs of the Swiss-Taiwan parliamentary friendship group Fabian Molina and Nicolas Walder, along with representatives Andreas Glarner and Pierre-Yves Maillard. The two sides shared in-depth exchanges on important topics such as Taiwan’s medical achievements, child and youth protection, sustainable national health insurance, and international participation. 

National Health Insurance Administration Deputy Director General Cheng Liang-yu (陳亮妤) also shared the development of Taiwan’s national health insurance big data and smart healthcare with Swiss parliamentarians. The high importance each side attached to the issues was evident throughout the discussions across the diverse group of professional fields.


The Swiss-Taiwan parliamentary friendship group also specially ordered gifts: water bottles with the printed message “Taiwan-Switzerland forever friends” for all of the visiting legislators. Combined with the valuable exchanges, each side demonstrated the continued commitment to deepening connections based on the common values of freedom, democracy, and human rights.
