President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and Premier Cho Jung-tai’s (卓榮泰) Cabinet are approaching their first anniversary in office. To mark the occasion, the Executive Yuan will hold a press conference on Friday to outline the administration’s accomplishments over the past year and provide an update on tariff negotiations with the United States.

At a post-Cabinet press briefing on Thursday, Cabinet Spokesperson Michelle Lee (李慧芝) announced that Vice Premier Cheng Li-chun (鄭麗君) will speak at the event, addressing pressing national issues—including the status of trade talks with Washington. The Cabinet Secretary-General will also deliver a summary of five core government initiatives and twenty key policy actions currently underway.

During Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) emphasized that Taiwan stands at a crucial juncture. He thanked ministry heads for their cross-agency collaboration and the coordination efforts of ministerial commissioners, urging all Cabinet members to maintain the dedication they brought on their first day in office.

Cho also expressed appreciation for the public’s guidance and encouragement over the past year, saying the administration takes it to heart. Moving forward, he affirmed the government’s commitment to advancing steadily under President Lai’s vision of a healthy, balanced, and united Taiwan.
