Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) posted Lunar New Year well wishes on social media on Tuesday, the holiday’s eve. Her message echoed President Lai Ching-te's (賴清德) speech, communicating her hope that every brave Taiwanese citizen will unite and move forward together.
Tsai pointed out that the Year of the Snake is a symbol of resilience and wisdom and that she hopes that all Taiwanese can shine in their own fields. She said that the past year presented many challenges, but because of everyone's cooperation and hard work, Team Taiwan has achieved excellent results in various industries around the world.
The former president emphasized that she looks forward to everyone continuing to walk side by side in the new year, upholding their love for their country and their belief in democracy and freedom. Tsai underscored that she believes the power of unity will continue to lead Taiwan towards a better future.
