Taichung has become a hub for innovative hand-shaken drink brands that blend aesthetics and flavor to attract customers in a fiercely competitive market.

If you think this spot is an artsy tourist attraction, think again—it’s actually a hand-shaken drink shop! Known as Jia Wen Cing, the shop’s blue-and-yellow facade, whimsical illustrations, and clever slogans have made it a hotspot for selfies and social media posts.

Open in Taichung for over six years, it’s a favorite among young customers. Beyond the aesthetic, the shop’s drinks focus on fresh fruit teas. Customers can watch as fresh guava is sliced and blended in front of them. One customer explains how the shop’s style really appeals to young people.

Another iconic Taichung brand is A-Yi Pineapple Ice, renowned for its nostalgic pineapple slushies. Customers can also pair the slushies with almond jelly or enjoy warm pineapple-ginger drinks during colder months.

A-Yi Black Tea Ice, a 70-year-old brand from Taichung, now has 174 outlets nationwide, emphasizing quality tea and offering rich, traditional flavors. Its Taichung store manager explains how they use the best quality tea leaves so that their tea will be sweeter.

In Taichung’s “beverage battleground,” brands stand out by combining great taste, creative visuals, and constant innovation.
