The inauguration ceremony for the 14th-term Examination Yuan members, along with the handover ceremony for the new president of the Examination Yuan, was held on Friday. Chou Hung-hsien (周弘憲) officially assumed his role as the new president with Hsu Shu-po (許舒博) stepping in as vice president.
Vice President Bi-khim Hsiao (蕭美琴) presided over the handover. In her remarks, Hsiao praised the expertise and exceptional qualifications of the 14th-term members, expressing confidence in their ability to guide the institution effectively. She noted that Chou, with extensive experience in examination and personnel institutions, is the ideal choice for the role. Hsiao also thanked outgoing president Huang Jong-tsun (黃榮村) for restructuring the Examination Yuan’s organization, driving digital transformation, and revitalizing the institution.
Chou stated that the top priority for the Examination Yuan is to institutionalize measures to prevent workplace bullying by amending the Civil Service Protection Act and Regulations Governing Safety and Sanitary Protection of Civil Service. These amendments will be submitted to the Legislature for review in the next session. He also outlined other key initiatives, including accelerating the digitization of national examinations, reviewing local government job classifications, streamlining personnel regulations, and fostering a healthier and more supportive workplace environment.
