The 12th Taiwan-Poland Economic Consultations began on Thursday with the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation (TAF) and the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA) signing a memorandum of cooperation on certification and evaluation. Economic Affairs Vice Minister Chen Zheng-qi (陳正祺) and Polish Economic Development and Technology Deputy Minister Michal Jaros are co-chairing the event in Taipei.
Jaros affirms the bilateral dialogue mechanism between the two countries, emphasizing that Poland is the largest market in Central and Eastern Europe and has a stable and secure investment environment. He says he is pleased to see the increasingly close economic and trade relations between Taiwan and Poland and looks forward to further interaction between the two sides' businesses.
The Economic Ministry stated that there is potential for collaboration between Taiwan and Poland in areas such as circular economy, smart manufacturing, and information technology. Chen says that, especially since Poland will serve as the EU's rotating president in the first half of next year, he hopes for further cooperation between the EU and Taiwan.
