Negotiations over the Logging Ban Compensation for Lands Reserved for Indigenous Peoples Act have reached an agreement of NT$60,000 per hectare, handled in the form of a supplementary budget. This concludes the central government's general budget discussion for 2025, which can now be submitted to the committee for review.

Representatives of the Council of Indigenous Peoples (CIP) appeared before the Legislature Home Affairs Committee to speak on their policy plan, as well as revenue and expenditure budget report. According to the report, next year's logging subsidy is estimated at NT$2.8 billion (about US$86.7 million), an increase of more than NT$700 million (roughly US$21.7 million) from this year.

CIP Chairman and Indigenous Affairs Minister Tseng Chih-yung (曾智勇) said that he is very grateful to Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰), Legislature President Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜), and both ruling and opposition legislators for their assistance obtaining compensation. He assured the central government and public that the Indigenous people will do their best to protect the land and water of Taiwan.
