Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) received an economic and trade delegation from Idaho on Tuesday, led by Idaho Governor Brad Little. Hsiao noted the enduring partnership between Idaho and Taiwan, voicing hopes for continued steady growth in trade cooperation. The visit marks Littles's third visit to Taiwan as governor.

Hsiao says she is pleased to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the sister-state relationship between Taiwan and Idaho and that the partnership is particularly important to Taiwan, noting that the state has a long-standing Asia-Pacific office in Taiwan.

The vice president says strong trade and economic ties between the two countries have resulted in benefits for both sides, with complementary products contributing to mutual prosperity. She adds she is optimistic that this relationship will continue to grow stronger, marking the beginning of another solid 40 years.

As a goodwill gesture, Hsiao presented the delegation with a 3D-printed mashed potato snack made by students and faculty at the National Yunlin University of Science and Technology, using potatoes sourced from both Taiwan and the U.S. symbolizing the friendly partnership between the two countries.
