President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) presided over the November promotion ceremony for senior military officers this Wednesday at the Presidential Office. The ceremony saw the promotion of six military generals.

Lai personally issued promotion orders and awards, including the promotion of six generals. Liu Sheen-mo (劉慎謨) and Shih Wen-lung (石文龍) were promoted to Army lieutenant general, Li Feng-hsiang (李鳳翔) was promoted to Navy vice admiral, Sun Chin-te (孫進德) and Ho Kuo-chia (何國嘉) were promoted to Army major generals, and Liu Hao-hsiang (劉浩祥) was promoted to Air Force major general.

The president thanked the six generals for their dedication and emphasized that the national military is Taiwan’s stabilizing force, standing firm in the face of the continued Chinese military operations and natural disasters, providing citizens with peace of mind. Lai said that the generals will assume greater responsibilities as part of their promotion and that he hopes they will continue their outstanding service to the country.

Lai further stated that the government will continue to promote national defense reform, provide more support to the national army, and strengthen its combat capabilities.
