An official conference for public radio education training and exchange sharing was held on Thursday at Taipei Broadcasting Station (TBS). TBS Director Shao-Chien Hu (胡紹謙) emphasized that, beyond strengthening relationships among public radio partners, the event focused on sharing practical experiences in exploring possibilities for collaboration despite limited resources and manpower.
Rti Vice President Isis Lee (李明俐) challenged the notion that “radio is dying,” citing data showing that over 90% of Malaysia's population still listens to FM radio. She shared insights from Rti's recent participation in the Public Broadcast International Conference in Canada, where discussions centered on amplifying indigenous voices, addressing budget constraints, combating misinformation, and exploring international media cooperation following the breakdown of news pricing negotiations between Canada and Meta.
The event featured presentations from various stations highlighting their operational developments and included a special lecture by DISC talent management expert Tsai Wei-yu (蔡緯昱) on workplace interpersonal style assessment. Taipei Broadcasting Station also showcased its recently upgraded broadcasting facilities to attendees.
Rti Chairperson Cheryl Lai (賴秀如) praised TBS’s modern recording studios, comparing them favorably to international standards. National Education Radio Director Huang Yueh-li (黃月麗) expressed excitement about the improved broadcasting equipment and announced plans to secure budget funding to enhance their own broadcasting quality.
