Taiwan’s Tourism Administration has appointed Vietnamese beauty queen Nguyễn Thúc Thùy Tiên (阮垂仙) as its first tourism ambassador for the Vietnamese market. The administration hopes her popularity will help boost the number of Vietnamese travelers visiting Taiwan to over 500,000 annually. During her recent visit to Taiwan to shoot promotional videos, Tiên enjoyed bubble tea and sampled stinky tofu.

Tiên won Miss Grand International in 2021, and is a frequent guest on various Vietnamese entertainment shows. On Wednesday, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism premiered Tiên's first Taiwanese tourism promotional video in Vietnamese at a Cinestar cinema. The event also featured interactive booths showcasing Taiwan's diverse travel experiences, with Tiên demonstrating a traditional Taiwanese children's game.

Director of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City Shin-yi Chou (周欣毅) emphasized Tiên’s approachability and positive image, especially among young people. The administration hopes her popularity will help them reach their goal of expected visitors. The Tourism Administration has also launched a "buy three, get one free" promotion for Taiwan travel packages in collaboration with Vietnamese travel agencies, running until the end of the year. They are additionally targeting Vietnam's top 500 companies to promote incentive travel, medical tourism, cruises, and long-haul flights.
