At a press briefing on Thursday, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an (蔣萬安) assured that both the National Day event and the live broadcast at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park will proceed as planned.

As Typhoon Krathon continues its course toward northern Taiwan, there is rising concern that the ongoing water leakage issues at Taipei Dome could disrupt the event. During his visit to the disaster response center, Chiang oversaw the venue's typhoon countermeasures and examined emergency evacuation routes. He noted that this year's event will mark the first time that the B2 stadium floor level will be open to the public. The city government has carefully planned the flow of attendees, ticket checks at entrances, security screenings, and seating arrangements to ensure a faster, more efficient, and safer event.

Regarding the Taipei Dome leak, Chiang stated that he has instructed the Department of Sports to ensure that all necessary improvements are completed by October 4. He also called on Farglory Group, the construction company, to expedite repairs.

Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan (李四川) explained that Farglory is using U.S.-made waterproof tape to seal the joints on the dome's roof, aiming for full coverage to prevent leaks. He added that repair work is ongoing and to be completed by the end of October.
