Premier Cho Jung-tai (卓榮泰) held a press conference to mark 101 days of the new Cabinet’s tenure, outlining the government’s focus on ‘care’ and ‘development’ as twin pillars of future policy on Wednesday. During the "Active and Innovative (AI) Cabinet 101st Day", Premier Cho used the yin and yang symbol as a metaphor to describe his collaboration with President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), emphasizing a balanced approach between them.
Cho highlighted the Cabinet’s teamwork in their rapid response to Typhoon Gaemi, completing weeks' worth of disaster assessment in just days. Cho stressed the importance of regular communication with President Lai, ensuring clear command and detailed division of labor within the administration.
Looking ahead to the new legislative session in September, Cho says he hopes for a renewed relationship between the executive and legislative branches. He emphasizes the need for smooth cooperation to pass crucial bills and the central government budget.
The premier reaffirmed the Cabinet’s commitment to sincere communication and prioritizing public interests in their interactions with the Legislature, recognizing the critical importance of timely budget approval for government operations and local subsidies.
