The Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show opened on Wednesday, with rumors that Nvidia’s CEO Jensen Huang will fly back to Taiwan for the event. While Huang has not yet shown up, over 10 of the 43 companies he previously mentioned as a “Taiwanese supply chain” list are in attendance, showcasing their innovations.
One example is a large robotic arm equipped with a 3D camera and AI model that can identify different types of goods. Integrating Nvidia's components, the machine can pick up and move objects like small pipes, automatically calculating a route even if only given start and endpoint commands.
As the physical arm grabs objects, a virtual arm mirrors the action, demonstrating “digital twin” application, which can both monitor and generate data for AI training.
Another Nvidia partner is showcasing an AI-powered inspection robotic arm used at the end of production lines. Compared to traditional manual inspection, which can take 30 to 40 minutes, this robot completes the task in just one or two minutes, with fewer errors, thanks to Nvidia’s motion control calculations.
The exhibition features 1,200 companies and over 4,500 booths. The new products displayed are deeply integrated with AI development, reflecting the AI-driven wave sweeping across Taiwan once again.
