Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) reiterated Taiwan’s semiconductor industry competitiveness and crucial role in the democratic supply chain during her speech at the Taiwan Internet Governance Forum on Wednesday. The event, held in collaboration with the Asia-Pacific Internet Governance Forum, brings together experts, scholars, government representatives, and business leaders to discuss key issues and best practices in developing Internet public policies. Hsiao says that Taiwan's security and regional stability are vital to the world and that she is committed to enhancing Taiwan’s digital resilience.

Hsiao says that in the digital era, global Internet governance is becoming increasingly important. She adds that Taiwan, as a member of the global internet community, must actively participate to boost its digital competitiveness and fulfill international obligations.

Hsiao says Taiwan's advanced semiconductor capabilities, role in AI, and position in the democratic supply chain make digital resilience crucial. She adds that Taiwan plans to continue cultivating digital talent, leveraging its strengths in ICT, and fostering technological innovation to create a comprehensive digital governance environment.

Hsiao says that in addition to building a globally competitive, technology-driven Taiwan, the government is committed to creating a people-centered Taiwan. She says that the government will ensure that digital transformation aligns with the needs of people and society.
