Taiwanese athletes have brought home two gold medals and five bronze medals from the Paris 2024 Olympics. In celebration of the successful games with an overall medal count second only to Taiwan’s performance at the Tokyo Olympics, the Presidential Office is welcoming their return with an exclusive party and public parade, “Our Heroes! Team Taiwan.”
The 67 athletes and coaches will be greeted by the honor guard upon arrival at the Presidential Office this Friday. The event, also open to family and friends of the athletes, will be complete with fashion photographers, illustrators, and bubble tea.
The “Heroes Parade” will begin its 1.5-kilometer route at 3:00 p.m. beginning at the Presidential Office. While some athletes will be unable to attend due to international travels or injuries, gold medalists Lin Yu-ting (林郁婷) and Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟) have confirmed they will be attending.
President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) will be present during the celebration, as well as representatives from the Education and Culture Ministries. Fans are welcome to join the live stream on MOESports’ and the Foreign Ministry’s YouTube channel called Trending Taiwan. Interacting through comments could uncover digital Easter eggs and animations.
