The American Institute in Taiwan (AIT) Director Raymond Greene held meetings with Vice Premier Cheng Li-chun (鄭麗君) and Economic Affairs Minister J.W. Kuo (郭智輝), as detailed in the AIT’s Facebook post this Tuesday.

The AIT acts as a de facto embassy of the United States in Taiwan, and serves to assist and protect U.S. interests in Taiwan in a quasi-official manner. Greene reiterated the United States’ commitment to strengthening Taiwan’s security, furthering its resilience, and expanding its international network. He also spoke on expanding U.S.-Taiwan economic cooperations, investments, and cultural exchanges.

Greene characterized the U.S.-Taiwan partnership as being rock solid, and expressed that the nation plans on taking the relationship to new heights.
