To commemorate Taiwan’s top badminton player, Tai Tzu-ying’s (戴資穎) long career and contribution to the sport, Chunghwa Post announced Monday the issue of a “Badminton with Tai” stamp pack.

The Post explained that the design of the stamp pack is meant to highlight Tai’s heroic appearance, including iconic shots of her playing at notable badminton matches over her career imposed over bold colors. The pack will contain a horizontal version of the special stamps along with two postcards and two player cards, all printed with Tai Tzu-ying’s signature.

Another goal of releasing the special collectors edition is to remind the public of all the records Tai has set over her career. Tai was Taiwan’s first athlete to rank number one in the world, a title she maintained for over two and a half years. In addition to the many wins she collected in her storied career, it is also a tribute to her fighting spirit: the perseverance to never give up, and face every challenge head-on. Tai announced that she would retire after the 2024 Olympics.

Pre-orders for the stamp pack will be available from 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday at participating post offices. With each pack priced at $350 (about US$10), stamps will be available on September 20 for pick-up, or delivery by mail for those ordering through the official website.
