The Cabinet held the Science and Technology Advisory Meeting on Wednesday with industry leaders, including TSMC Chairman Mark Liu (劉德音) and MediaTek Chairman Ming-Kai Tsai (蔡明介).
In an interview prior to the meeting, Liu addressed speculations about Samsung offering discounts to secure orders for 2-nanometer chips, saying that what customers prioritize is technological quality. Regarding the economic outlook for the coming year, Liu also expressed his hope for a robust and healthy industry climate.
When questioned about recommendations Tsai intends to make to the government during the meeting, he said that he would leverage industry experience to contribute to discussions. He says he hopes to assist the government in making the right decisions and avoid making the wrong decisions.
