Taipei 101, Taiwan’s most iconic skyscraper, announced on Tuesday that its 2024 New Year's Eve fireworks show will be themed "Colorful World". The show will feature 16,000 fireworks launched from the building, lasting 300 seconds.
Taipei 101 Chairman Chang Hsueh-shun (張學舜) says the theme of "Colorful World" is meant to symbolize humanity's journey towards a colorful new year and beautiful future world. This year's show will also be the first time that Taipei 101 has collaborated with a Japanese fireworks company, which Chang says symbolizes the strong relationship between the two countries.
Chang says that Taipei 101 is a landmark of Taiwan’s contemporary civilization and that since pioneering the world's first skyscraper-style fireworks in 2004, it has become the highest point for fireworks displays worldwide. He says that Taipei 101 welcomes global travelers to celebrate the festivities including the spectacular fireworks show.
