Audiences can now enjoy the beauty of Chinese-language cinema for free through an online exhibition as part of the 60th anniversary celebration of the Golden Horse Awards.
English-language media outlet TaiwanPlus partnered with the Taiwan Film Audiovisual Institute to put together an online exhibition featuring three outstanding film directors and their classic works from the 60s to the 80s: Li Hsing (李行), Li Han-hsiang (李翰祥) and Chen Kun-hou (陳坤厚).
Titled “Golden Decades - Cinematic Masters of the Golden Horse Awards”, the movies are available with full English subtitles from November 18, 2023 to May 17, 2024 exclusively on the TaiwanPlus platform.
TaiwanPlus CEO Yu Chia-chang (余佳璋) said the online exhibition showcases the historical changes in the film industry and culture of Taiwan's contemporary society. Yu hopes that audiences can learn more about the stories of Taiwan through the exhibit.
The Golden Horse Awards is one of the most prestigious awards in the Chinese-language film industry. Founded in 1962, the awards ceremony was established to recognize exceptional films and filmmakers.
