The Foreign Ministry says it’s optimistic that exchanges between Taiwan and Oman could potentially increase, according to a press release on Wednesday.
Vice Foreign Minister Remus Li-Kuo Chen (陳立國) attended the National Day Reception of the Sultanate of Oman on Tuesday evening. In his speech, Chen said there is great potential to deepen cooperation under Oman's 2040 Vision trade and economic framework. Citing figures from last year, Chen says that bilateral trade volume showed a 50% increase to reach US$2.8 billion. He says that Oman is an important energy supplier for Taiwan and highlighted the ongoing scientific and technological exchanges between Taiwan’s Dong Hwa University and Oman University.
Chen says that people-to-people exchanges will increase in the future and that Taiwan and Oman will continue to cooperate in the areas of trade, economy, investment, education, tourism, and culture.
