The annual Taiwan Reading Festival will be held at the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall on December 2 and 3. A series of exciting activities is available to the public to culture and nurture the love for reading.
Vice Premier Cheng Wen-tsan (鄭文燦) spoke at a press conference on Monday in support of the event. He encourages businesses and organizations to donate books, and the public to visit libraries more often. Cheng said he hopes these actions inspired by the festival will become a tradition.
In addition to the Taiwan Reading Festival, public libraries across the country will be holding related events. For example, the National Library of Public Information will be hosting a creative event featuring clothing. Curated displays in the exhibition hall will provide the reader with a different reading perspective through stories told through descriptions of the clothing. The National Taiwan Library will also continue to share the joy of reading with the theme of sustainability.
