Wuling Farm in the mountains of Taichung is renowned for its stunning 22-day cherry blossom season. During February, the farm's three-kilometer cherry blossom forest, transforms into a pink river of flowers, offering a sight to behold.
It’s no surprise that it’s very popular with tourists, and when the room reservation system opened on Wednesday, customers flooded the website and phones rang off the hook, leading to all 2,500 rooms completely selling out in just one minute.
The speedy sellout left many disappointed, unable to secure a room for their visit. Some shared their experiences of trying to snag a booking with one saying they were sold out in a flash, and couldn't book a room.
For those yet to secure a booking, there are still options if you want to see the blossoms. Reservations for camping spots open on December 1, and Wuling Farm also suggests visiting in January to see early-blooming cherry blossoms and plum blossoms, with the added bonus of avoiding the traffic jams that come with the high season.
As the countdown to cherry blossom season continues, those looking to have a blooming good time may need to consider alternatives.
