The Central Election Commission (CEC) announced on Monday that the 16th presidential and 11th legislative elections will be held on January 13 next year. The CEC will hold this election’s first televised policy debates, three for presidential candidates and one for vice presidential candidates, late December.

The first broadcast will be on December 20 at 7:00 p.m., the second on December 26 at 2:00 p.m., and the third on December 28 at 7:00 p.m., with the vice presidential candidate speeches on December 22 at 7:00 p.m.

Every candidate will have 30 minutes to present their policies, divided into three rounds of 10 minutes each. The debates will be broadcast live on television on four channels and also livestreamed online.

Following the presidential candidate debates, other members of the legislative parties will present their political policies on January 8, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
