President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) met with a delegation from the National Committee on American Foreign Policy (NCAFP) on Monday.

During her welcome remarks, Tsai said she believes NCAFP’s visit will facilitate a better understanding of the challenges Taiwan and the region faces. Tsai also thanked the NCAFP for regularly reporting on Taiwan-US relations and the situation in the Taiwan Strait. Tsai said this has promoted multilateral dialogue, deepened Taiwan-US relations and brought about positive developments in regional security. Tsai emphasized that Taiwan will continue to work hard to maintain regional peace and stability as a responsible member of the international community.

NCAFP President and CEO Susan Elliott responded saying that the NCAFP has been working hard to organize informal tripartite discussions between experts from the U.S., Beijing and Taipei; believing the best way to maintain peace, stability and prosperity is through dialogue. Elliot also congratulated Tsai on her many achievements during her eight years in office.
